Posted : adminOn 3/22/2018There were drivers for Win 95 that were supplied by HP. Raymond V Raymond Usher Deluxe Zip Album. HP doesn't have them listed anymore (at least not anywhere I can find them). This website claims to have them but I can't verify it. I tried that earlier on and I couldn't get Windows to recognize them. Might have been my error, but I had little success. Paul, below, says Windows 95 has a generic HPGL driver.
Makes sense that ought to work with any plotter using that language. Be careful when using Corel Draw with it. Based on the plotter I had access to (many years ago), it could take a hours to draw an image and basically chew through all the pens. I would suggest using the plotter for large scale flowcharts but not any solid filled graphics.
I'm not planning to do anything too dense with ink, I'm just more familiar with that sort of program. Well looking at the manual from here:- the minimum cable is three wires. Because of the vagaries of the 9-pin connector I think you do 2-2, 3-3 and 1 on the 9-pin to 8 on the 9-pin. Then make sure you set the plotter and computer for X-ON/X-OFF.

Jun 27, 2006 - Parallel cable can't be the usual printer with Centronics connector, but has to be male to male 25 pin type. If the plotter has a 25 pin connector and it is labeled parallel, not just a 25 pin serial for convenience, then it should have normal parallel printer/device pinout, hence a straight thru 25 would be.
