Short for Probabilistic Feature-based On-line Rapid Model Acquisition (whew), the new application lets you rotate any item in front of the camera, scanning it as a 3D object in real time. It works by generating a 3D point cloud based on the image it picks up from the camera, using mathematical computations to correct any problems (e.g. A stray finger blocking the view). Even better, the software keeps tracking the object even after the scan, so it can match any additional movements exactly with the virtual model.
