Hauptwerk Litomysl Organ

On the photo-realistic virtual console of the Litomysl organ from Sonus Paradisi are some yellow scraps of paper. I thought that these scraps of paper on a nice console of a good organ is a bit too realistic and decided to remove them. The image file of the actual part of the console named nadped.bmp I found in the folder HauptwerkSampleSetsAndComponents/OrganInstallationPackages/000310/pozadi. The image file was copied, and the yellow paper retouched away with the free open source photo editing program Gimp.

The original nadped.bmp file was then replaced by the retouched image file, the organ reloaded by Load organ, adjusting rank audio output routing, and now I have a nice clean organ console on the screen. Has it then improved the sound of the organ? Definitely yes, in the same way as a car drives better when it is polished.

Best regards Johannes PS. It was my intention to post before and after pictures, but unfortunately I have not found out yet how to post images to the forum. Maybe it is one of the many things that is easy to do when one first have learned the trick. Member Posts: 222 Joined: Sat Jan 20, 2007 11:25 am Location: Copenhagen, Denmark.

Hello, everybody, I wonder whether any one (and, in particular Martin of course, but other users may have face the same problem already). I installed HW2 a couple of days ago on a bi-opteron 275, 8 Gb computer with Windows XP 64 bit and the E-MU 0404 and loaded the full Litomysl (24 bit) organ (that by the way seems to require 'only' 5.24 Gb memory if Windows task manager is to be believed). Everything started fine (after some time spent on making everything work). However, when I use the full Litomyls plenum (principals and mixtures, no reeds), I get a lot of clipping (or at least that's what I believe 'clippling' means).

I don't think I have a static polyphony problem, as the task manager does not report any overloading of the processors. I nevertheless reduced my polyphony limit from the default 4096 to 3000, to no avail. Reading the HW2 guide, I found the succinct discussion of the output level and wonder whether my problem could come from that.

The guide says that the figure should be set at the maximum level compatible with no clipping. So I went to the organ/general options window and tried to decrease the ouput level from its default level, which is 0 (zero). However, there is no way apparently to type in negative figures. Did I miss something? Thanks for any help Pierre.
